Heritage Square
FOR BUSINESSES
Invite Whitman students into your business and be part of a downtown welcome they won’t forget.
FOR WHITMAN STUDENTS
Pick up your passport, explore downtown, and claim your welcome bag when you’re done!
FOR COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS
Host a booth, share what you do, and help welcome Whitman students to our community.
For Downtown Businesses
Help us welcome Whitman downtown.
There are two ways to participate: be an event stop, contribute to the welcome bags, or do both.
Be an Event Stop
To be included on the official event map, businesses must:
Be open 5:00–7:00 PM on September 9
Offer something for students to experience or enjoy
Participate in the Whitman on Main bingo activity
Students will learn something about each stop and write it on their bingo card, so have a fun fact, piece of trivia, or interesting detail ready to share.
Add to the Welcome Bags
We’ll have 200 welcome bags for students who complete the event activity.
Businesses can contribute a small item, coupon, special offer, gift card, giveaway, or something else that encourages students to come back.
You can participate in the bags even if you are not open during the event.
Sign-up and welcome bag contributions are due August 31.
For Whitman Students
Welcome to downtown!
Whitman on Main is your chance to get out, explore downtown Walla Walla, and discover some of the businesses and places you’ll want to come back to.
Start at Heritage Square, pick up your event passport, and head downtown.
Visit participating businesses, see what they have planned, and collect passport stamps along the way.
Visit at least five participating businesses, then return your completed passport to Heritage Square by the end of the event to claim a welcome bag, while supplies last.
You’ll also find community organizations, activities, and more happening at Heritage Square throughout the evening.
The full map and participating business list will be posted here soon.
For Community Organizations
Come help welcome students to Walla Walla.
Local nonprofits and community organizations are invited to join Whitman on Main at Heritage Square from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Participating organizations will be included on the official event map as student stops, and visits to your booth will count toward completion of the student activity.
Organizations should plan to:
Bring your own table, chairs, signage, and booth materials
Have someone staffing the booth from 5:00–7:00 PM
Have a fun fact, piece of trivia, or other detail ready for students to learn and write on their event card
Create an easy, welcoming way for students to learn about your organization
